Kuria West police have launched investigations into the death of Stephen Wangenyi, 42 year old who was beheaded with a panga only one hour after celebrating the New Year at a pub.

He died at Getong’anya village, Nyanchabo location after being attacked by unknown assailant at 1am on January s.

Confirming the incident, Kuria West OCPD Mr. Evance Wanyonyi said the deceased was in a drinking binge in one of the pub with others,.

“He was attacked, dragged outside the bar and his head chopped off using pangas. His attackers disappeared into the dark. Sadly his fellow revelers claim they never knew what happened,” Wanyonyi said.

He said police are yet to establish what could have led to such heinous act as the body of the deceased is preserved at Pastor Machage hospital mortuary.
