Migori Women Representative Dennitah Ghati and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya on Sunday led a vote hunt for Cord leader Raila Odinga in Kuria region.

The two hosted party delegates, officials and supporters in a tour of Kuria East sub county starting from Gekoharaka, Ntimaru and Kegonga towns to drum up support for opposition.

“The tour is hosted by myself, party officials in Kuria. We will have rallies in the three venues,” Ghati told Migori News.

County ODM Secretary General Joseph Olala said the meeting comes after Raila met with Kuria elders on July 3.

“The meeting will strengthen the orange party in Kuria community and ensure we get the votes a bloc,” Joseph Olala, Migori county ODM said.

The tour comes as both Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta plan to be in Kuria in January to scramble for 65,000 votes.

But Kuria West MP Mathias Robi and Makerero MCA Joseph Hoyo, both elected in URP in last polls said the meeting was futile as the region will vote for Jubilee come 2017.

“When the president will come he will directly meet Kuria opinion sharpers, afterwards we will vote as a bloc for him and get 30 per cent of presidential votes in Migori county,” Hoyo said.
