Police hunt on
A sad mood has engulfed residents of Kameji village in Rongo after a man killed his brother over funeral related quarreling.
The family of Mzee Meshack Opiyo had met to have a postmortem of a recent funeral when the two brothers fought over payment and who was to inherit the widow.
The body of Ochieng Opiyo has been taken to Tabaka Mission Hospital in Kisii county.
Kameji location chief John Agoro said suspect attacked his brother with a blunt object before escaping to unknown place.
“During the meeting the deceased said the clan was to forcefully acquire goods or household furniture from man who went berserk,” Agoro said.
Rongo police boss Jonathan Kisaka said they have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
