Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo has said his CDF committee will allocate some fund for the installation of CCTV cameras at all bodaboda stages in the constituency.

The amount will be carried out in the current financial year as part of constituency plan to deal with insecurity in the region.

He said they are on later stages discussing the issue installation in all designated motorbike stages.

He said the initiative has been purposed by increased cases of insecurity in the region that has seen many boda boda operators being murdered by people who pose as their clients.

“The cameras will be able to record video footage of bodaboda operators and their clients for easy trace in case any goes missing to reduce cases of insecurity,” he said.
