A boda boda operator died while his two passengers are in a critical condition after being knocked down by a lorry at Kabobo center in Suna West sub-county along Migori-Muhuru Bay road.

The accident happened on Monday evening along the newly tarmacked roads which residents have complained of drivers over-speeding.

Suna West sub county Deputy county commissioner Yusuf Huka confirmed the incident saying the lorry was moving in the opposite direction.

Huka said the rider died on the spot while the two have been taken to Migori Referral hospital for treatment.

“The driver of the lorry has been arrested and is detained in the police custody to be arraigned in court,” he said.

He warned drivers against reckless driving along the new tarmac road.
