Rongo MP Paul Abuor arrested by EACC over Sh141.6million NG-CDF fraud

The anti-graft body has issued an arrest warrant against Rongo MP Paul Abuor and his aide over graft in the constituency development fund.

Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on a Facebook post broke the news of the graft whch is amounting to Sh141.6million.

“Following the operation, the suspect was arrested and brought to EACC headquarters at integrity center where he is currently recording a statement,” Abdi Mohamud, EACC CEO said in a statement.

“Arrest of Rongo MP Paul Odalo Mark over alleged conflict of interest and theft of public funds amounting to Sh122million,” EACC said.

The warrant was issued less than a hour ago.

EACC said the legislator was under investigation from 2017 to 2024.

They said the MP and Christopher Nelson Abuor registered Aztec Infrastructure Kenya which built several classrooms and drilled several boreholes and receiced Sh122million.

“He (Abuor) is the sole signatory to the company bank account,” EACC said.

The legislator and his aide, a personal assistant also registered Jebset Holdings Limited which was paid Sh19.4million.

The aide is the sole bank account signatory.

The arrest of part of EACC investigation on use of NG-CDF, NGAAF and county funds over “conflict of interests, milti million payments for services not rendered and payroll fraud involving ghost workers.
