Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda has complained of being rigged out of the forthcoming the Orange Democratic Movement grass roots elections.

Ochanda was among the party rebel leaders dubbed ‘State House Rebels’ who chose to work closely with President William Ruto in the past despite the party and leader Raila Odinga warnings.

Ochanda was fined by the party and insisted on visiting State House and working against opposition agenda in the house.

Speaking to the press, Ochanda complained that intelligence he has been gathering was that there is a plan to lock him out of the primaries.

“People who are thinking or imagining to be candidates in 2027 are keen on seeing who are the officials of the party at this level, instead of normal campaigning and doing things the normal way are causing violence,” Ochanda said.

He complained that Bondo has never seen that violence and warned that even if he is locked out of the ODM elections “are like they have already lost before their losing time.”

He complained that he has never seen the level of violence in Bondo.

He was speaking to the press in his constituency as seen in a TikTok video shared by Standard journalist in Siaya Isaiah Gwengi on his profile.

Ochanda complain comes as Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga and the party national chairman warned that those who rebelled earlier like the legislator will be locked out of party position in the forthcoming polls.

Meanwhilee the party in a press statement, the ODM National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC) chairperson Emily Awita has confirmed said from Novemner 27 they will have polls in all polling centers across 47 counties.
