Isebania town residents bordering Kenya and Tanzania have welcomed the new Kanaiz Supermarket & Wholesalers as a game changer for growth.

On Friday, the new business venture was opened along the main highway to Tanzania and will open from 6am to midnight.

Despite being a border town, Isebania always sleep early with residents forced to travel to Migori and Kisii towns to buy cheap and quality goods for their homes and businesses.

“We are happy to have this new outfit which shows that investors have confidence in our town, in past we had fears of insecurity but to open up late Kanaiz will boost investors interests,” Peter Highway, an elder said.

Florence Wanjiru said being the gate to Tanzania and Kenya the new venture will make sure those passing through late at night will have a place to shop.

“We know anybody walking late into the night will still afford to pick household items or have a bite,” Wanjiru saud.

Njoroge Kanai, the investor said they strive “to bring back the culture of opening late in the night and at dawn to catch on travellers entering or leaving the country through Tanzania, this is a border town.”
