Migori governor Ochillo Ayacko has made a major boost for agriculture sector in the county with multi-million investment.
Ayacko has increased the number of agricultural extension officers since taking office in 2022 to reach all 40 wards in the county. Ayacko flagged off 20 motorbikes to 20 Ward Agricultural Extension Officers in the county.

“This transformative initiative symbolizes our unwavering commitment to bolstering agricultural outreach, ensuring that our officers can traverse remote regions effortlessly and enhance agricultural productivity for every farmer they reach,” Ayacko said.
Ayacko also issued Sh20 million to 20 SACCOS spanning selected 20 wards within the county. “We have also complemented the Saccos with essential office furniture, including chairs, tables, fireproof office cabinets computers, and printers, these support measures will fortify the administrative capabilities of our SACCOs,” he added.
The launch at Kababu Vocational College in Suna West was done with the support of National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP).
“We are set to step towards elevating the agricultural landscape of Migori County,” he said. He said the move will foster financial resilience and move the drive to improve agricultural productivity and enriched livelihoods across our county.
