The motion said Mutai has been forcing his partners to have “unconsented anal sex, dangerous and unprotected sex.”

Rogony said he has a victim who is ready to testify in-camera on the charges.

He was also accused of gross violation of the constitution, gross violation of various national and County laws, and misuse of office.

“While the governor is on record indicating that the medical bills for all the victims will be waived and taken care of by the county government.  It is not clear why the money had to be paid out from the fund collected to various public hospitals against the expense and equivocal representations of the governor.” part of the charge against the governor read.

Governor Mutai has also been accused of failing to work despite the hefty allowances he receives.

This is the second time Mutai is facing impeachment.

In 2023, a section of Kericho MCAs threatened to table an impeachment motion against Mutai over allegations of misappropriating Ksh14.5 million donated by well-wishers to respond to and help victims of the Londiani Tragedy.

In June 2024, the governor was also put on the spot for spending Ksh425.6 million meant for payment of pending bills by his administration.
