The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has launched investigations into three members of a county public service board for holding other government jobs.

The three officials at the Makueni County Public Service Board are under probe for allegedly holding two jobs in government.

EACC has named the three as Bernard Kivunge, Jacinta Kinyili, and Margaret Musyoka.

“They are accused of illegally receiving salaries, allowances, and benefits from both their roles as board members and in their positions at public universities,” EACC has said.

The commission said the suspected were appointed to the Makueni County Public Service Board (PSB) while they were already employed full-time at the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, and Machakos University.

The investigation was initiated following a report received by the integrity agency on May 15 which said they were ineligible for the county positions.

If found guilty by a court EACC is mandated to recover all public funds paid to these officials while they were engaged in dual employment.
