Migori has cleared a Sh110million debt owed to government drug supplies.
Governor Ochillo Ayacko said when he took over from the past administration the health sector was in poor state with Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (Kemsa) having accrued debt.
“We cleared the debt and among the biggest headache was Kemsa which we cleared and are among very few counties which have done so across the country,” Ayacko said.
Ayacko said the county has so far cleared Sh110m debt from Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (Kemsa) and we will cut off pilferages and stealing through staff.
“We have started off digital revenue collection, equipment and medicine movement,” Ayacko said.
