Political supremacy battle between governor Ochillo Ayacko and Uriri MP Mark Nyamita has dragged in president William Ruto’s name.

Talks of 2027 governor race have already sparked tension between the two county leaders as several MCAS have been assaulted.

Last week, Nyamita met with county security team led by police commander Mark Wanjala to pile pressure on arrests of goon who have attacked several MCAs allied to him.

“We cannot stay in a county where goons chase even elected leaders and beat them up in hotels and the house, if Ayacko has any problem with me he should face one-on-one,” Nyamita said.

He was speaking about attack on several MCAs allied to him a fort night ago.

While speaking in Migori town, Ayacko distanced himself from the violence despite affected MCAs calling on him directly for sponsoring goons insisting I “have nothing to do with targeting anybody.”

AYACKO: SOME MCA’s ARE PAYING GOONS TO BEAT THEM THEN BLAME OTHERS TO GAIN SYMPATHY

.“I am not aware or in any plan to have anybody hurt or anybody suffer for doing anything for himself or against any person, my administration stands for unity, diversity and also for tranquility in Migori county even if we may differ politically,” Ayacko said.

Ayacko said it was unfortunate that chaos which started in the assembly even before he was elected governor or Ruto as president has seen his name and the president’s dragged in them.

“This idea of politicizing things and dragging the name of the governor and the president is a means of others to rise profile of their false complains,” Ayacko said.

Four MCAs Samson Olima (North Kadem), Peter Mijungu (West Kanyamkago MCA), Norman Ogolla (East Kanyamkago MCA) and Eunice Odii (Central Kanyamkago) were assaulted by goons at a local hotel in Migori town.

Olima was forced to hide inside a woman’s house for his safety while Mijungu and Ogolla jumped from the first floor of the hotel with Odii hiding under a counter before police rescued them.

Olima said he was injured on the right shoulder where he had a crack, right leg and left hand.

“Migori we can’t ask for any permission to be here or to be attacked because we attended president’s function or because some elected leaders are associated with me,” Nyamita said.

In a recent attack on March 28, two MCAs, George Omamba (North Kanyamkago MCA) and Mijungu were rescued by police after several goons stormed the assembly and accused them of attending the recent visit by Ruto in the county on March 25.

The MCAs said apart from attending Ruto’s meeting, their attempt to question development projects, issuance of bursary and validity of those employed by the county has been behind their woes.
