Contractors who won tenders to construct Competence Based Curriculum classrooms during President Uhuru’s regime are lamenting over unpaid dues for the work they did.

The contractors led Rioba Bokobora have said that they applied for the tenders and won them and were given work to do which they did and completed on time but since then in phase 1 and also 2 of the project they have not received their payment that amounts to shs 1.3millions for the work done.

They said that efforts to make them get paid have made them appear more frustrated and also disappointed as the office of the education tells them that their documents were sent to Nairobi and they should wait for the payment to come.

The contractors said that they intend to lock the classrooms and will only open them when they are now paid their dues on time.

They claim that they took loans from friends, banks and other financial institutions and they are yet to pay them back but they fear that the interest rates are increasing day by day and they risk paying more or even put on CRB that will hinder them from getting loans in future.
