Medics, Kuria community laud governor Ayacko for picking Charles Chacha as Chief Officer during special prayers

Medical fraternity in Kenya and the Kuria community have lauded Migori governor Ochillo Ayacko for picking one of their own in his administration.

Charles Chacha fondly called ‘daktari’ was picked as a Chief Officer in the Environment docket, a move that has elicited excitement after he was sworn in.

On Monday friends and family members organised a special prayer at Kubweye Primary School in Mabera area, Kuria West constituency on his honor.

“First as a medical fraternity we want to say we are happy for this appointment, we are seeing faces in the new appointments and we are thankful,” Elly Obwanda, a medic in Migori said.

Obwanda said Chacha was a key official in nurses’ union nationally and a fulcrum in Migori.

“We thanks the governor so much because his manifesto touched so much on health and so far we have three. We are greatful,” he said.

Johnes Mwita, an activist from the Kuria community said Chacha was instrumental in the campaign trail for Ayacko and held the Bugumbe clan voters and Kuria on their side.

“We as the Kuria community and especially the Bugumbe clan we are honoured and we know in 2027 we will say a big thank you again to Ayacko,” he said.

Charles Murimi, a friend said they have hopes that the governor administration will make things better to all voters.
