Migori town was on April 4 was given a political standoff as two governor aspirants in the April 13 primaries launched their bids.

Both are doctors, former university dons and above all neighbours around Piny Oyie center in Suna West constituency headquarters.

Dr. Philip Mwabe booked the Migori Primary School grounds for his launch in Suna West while across the river Dr. Pamela Odhiambo, the current Woman Representative picked county stadium.

“Police and security allowed the two events to go on the same day because they are in separate constituencies,” Mwabe said.

By Sunday evening, the two aspirants were out doing each other as their branded campaign vehicles and supporters had mini roadshows.

Mounted speakers, comedians and skimply dressed dancers in branded campaign vehicles combed Migori Town pushing through attendance.

Banners, posters and campaign materials by both aspirants were shared in equal measures.
