The Genesis of Hope Academy in rural set-up of Sibuoche, West Kanyamkago is celebrating surpassing their target and dreams in their first attempt at national examinations.
The school had 17 candidates and the highest, Brandon Omondi Ooko scored 403/500 marks with a mean score of 334.58
Majoge Paul, Head teacher of the school said their target was 330, and they went overboard
“Majority had over 300 marks and we want that the next exams to get a mean score of 350 marks,” Majoge said.
George Philip Oyigi, the director of the school said he thanked God for the young school to leave an academic mark in the area.
“This is our first exam and we have done so well, we call on parents to give us more learner as we have adequate infrastructure and the school is accessible,” he said.
He said set in a rural area, the academy’s learning environment is conducive as it “offers hope to the local community.”
“We are both day and boarding school, we have enough security, water and electricity which is good for learners,” he explained.
Candidates lauded their teachers and parents for good work.

“I would express my gratitude to teachers and parents in the school for giving us a conduscive environment to learn,” Ooko, the top student said.
He said he was expecting to get the marks and was thrilled.
“I would wish to be an Engineer in the future and Mangu or Maseno are my dream schools,” he said.
