Kuria West police has launched investigations over an incident where a woman was killed on the spot and her child is in critical condition.
Dilvin Juma, 26 died on the spot after a lorry ran over her when a motorbike she was riding with her child lost control and skidded on the busy Migori-Isebania road.
Her son Gavin Nyakogo, 2 months old sustained serious head injuries and is fighting for her life at St Joseph Ombo Mission Hospital.
Daniel Juma was riding a boda boda in Isebania town around Boda Point Junction when John Mwita Kinono, 64, tried to negligently open the door of his stationery probox vehicle.
“The vehicle was on the left side of the road and the rider tried to avoid the opened door and lost control and fell on the road, when an oncoming lorry ran over them,” Cleti Kimaiyo the area police boss said.
The motorbike rider survived.
