Drugs shortage hit public hospitals in Migori county

A health crisis is looming in Migori County following reports of shortage of malaria drugs in.most health facilities in the county.

Following this shortage, patients have been forced to seek medical attention and medication from private health facilities.

Residents have further expressed their frustration over the alleged laxity by the Ministry of Health to address the situation before it gets out of hand.

They are now appealing to the county government and the ministry of health to address the crisis before it gets out of hand.

Migori County Chief Officer for Health, Mr. Donald Jaleny, however, said that the ministry is trying its best to get the drugs within the shortest time possible.

He said that they have applied for drugs supply from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).
