Migori Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo on Thursday launched the Youth Captain lobby group, Migori chapter that will coordinate ODM campaigns in the county.

The event organised in Migori town makes the county to be the 20th, out of 47 counties which were launched.

“We are here with the biggest agenda to ensure our leader Raila Odinga becomes the fifth president of the republic, we will shun any personal vendetta and agenda in the county when it comes to this agenda,” Odhiambo said.

She said the launch under her Woman Representative will target to empower youths and set the agenda when she becomes the second Migori governor during the August 9 general elections.

“We are here to share the most critical aspect in making Raila the fifth, by first to ensure youths are in safer hands and we get votes to deliver this agenda,” Odhiambo said.

She said the captains will ensure youths are registered as voters and take part in the forthcoming elections.

“We already set our schedules of movement of registration kits across all 40 wards, these captains will ensure the message is received by all potential voters,” she added.

She said youths should not be misused for causing chaos in rallies and political areas in the future.

Beth Syengo, the president of Women League said Youth Captains will stand against mis-information created by Deputy President William Ruto about giving youths wheelbarrows.

“We will deliver Kenyan youths against giving wheelbarrows and mkokoteni, we have professionals among youths and those seeking opportunities. It is only Azimio la Umoja that will deliver this,” Syengo said.

Norah, a student from Rongo University student who will coordinate the captains in the county said as youths they deserve better at the ballot.
