Awendo MP Walter Owino has finalise a campaign pledge and a legacy project when he will launch the Kenya Medical Training College, Awendo campus on December 1.
The campus was launched recently when Owino was in a flight with President Uhuru Kenyatta and they took a selfie together.
“I used the opportunity to request for a KMTC campus in Awendo, and the president granted me the wish after we sort allocation of government land next to Awendo sub-county hospital,” Walter told Migori News i a recent interview.

With the promise, the legislator moved with speed and moved into extensive lobbying to push the Migori County Government to release the land, KMTC board to approve the new campus and the government to allocate the funds for construction.
“While government gave us a green light, we used the NG-CDF board to smoothen and align the progress of the campus which will open up Awendo and entire South Nyanza region,” he said.

And now ODM leader Raila Odinga is set to officially launch the project on December 1, which will be key in ensuring Walter, who seeks to defend his seat in next year’s general elections gets a major campaign boost.
The launch will come only days after former Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo hosted Deputy President William Ruto and other TangaTanga factions in the constituency.
