Two people died and five other people survived with injuries in a road accident at Winyo market center a long Rongo-Homabay road on Thursday night.
The head horn collision accident that involving a Toyota Prado and a sugar cane Tractor that was heading in different directions, the Prado was heading toward Homabay and the tractor toward Rongo town.
According to Rongo Sub-County Police Commander Peter Okiring, the tractor was heading towards Rong after offloading the sugar cane at Opapo weighbridge

“The two people who have lost their lives are the tractor driver and his turnboy, the Prado driver and his three passengers have survived minor injuries and have been taken to Rongo sub-County Hospital for treatment,” Said Okiring
The Officer said that they have launched an investigation to establish the root course of the accident and whoever will be found responsible will be charged in the court of law.
“We are urging all the road uses to march carefully while using the roads, more so during the night, we don’t want our people to lose their lives just because somebody is driving carelessly on the road, for now, it has not been established what coursed the accident,” Said Okiring.
He however said that the Prado and the Tractor have been towed to Kamagambo Police station, the bodies of the deceased were removed and taken to Rosehood mortuary in Rongo Town has they have an investigation on the matter.
