Suna East MP aspirant Samuel Amimo has said he will be an ODM candidate in the 2022 general elections despite fears of flawed nominations.

Amimo said he believes there is still room for credible party nominations in the constituency despite several other aspirants already shopping for other parties or plan to go the independent after primaries.

“In the constituency we have some fear among aspirants that the ODM primaries may be marred by irregularities, already we have those who are scaring and branding others as UDA or Deputy President William Ruto men to gain mileage,” Amimo said.

He was speaking to Migori News after meeting with businessman Jimmy Wanjigi in Westlands where he paid the ODM party bigwig a courtesy call.

“We discussed many party issues, among them need to create democratic space in the party as we plan to ensure our leader Raila Odinga is elected as president in the forthcoming general elections,” Amimo said.

Amim said he plans to have an all inclusive administration in Suna East that will bring all stakeholders to spur development and keep away from intimidation of critics.

“By September i will officially put my support base in order and start officials door-to-door campaigns which will include registrations of ODM members for nominations as the party is our home,” Amimo said.

The aspirant said he is confident of winning the ODM ticket as he will face nomination through ground support, “and if the process is above board, i will support the candidate.”
