Silanga residents in Uriri constituency have raised concerns that they have never seen electricity in the village since the country got independence.
Dave Juma, said the village in East Kanyamkago ward have tried several offices to have the village connected to the national grid without any success.
Juma said among several offices they have tried to seek redress is from Uriri MP Mark Nyamita.
“We have tried several offices for electricity including our legislator, sadly up to now we are still in the dark,” Juma said.
He said they have been suffering from insecurity with businesses like welding and kinyozi being a pipe dream for them.
“We are supposed to be Kenyans who pay taxes and we wonder if we will never see electricity,” Juma said.
But reacting to the matter, Nyamita said they have started to follow up on issue electricity and was aware the village need connection which he said he will tackle soon.
