Awendo MP Walter Owino has challenged county police officers to have more patrols to control the runaway insecurity experienced in many major towns.

Owino said since June 18 when President Uhuru Kenyatta imposed special 7pm-4am curfew in Western region, thugs have been terrorising residents with impunity.

Speaking to Migori News, the legislator said major town like Migori, Awendo, Rongo, Kehancha and Isebania have seen residents live in fear after a series of murders rocked the county with three bodies picked in town weeks.

“We blame police for lack of patrols which ends by 8pm when they have ensured the curfew rules are followed, afterwards it is vagabonds who rule towns,” Owino said.

On Tuesday morning, residents of Dago Kouma woke up in shock after a body of a naked woman was picked by herders, a third murder case in a span of days.

On Sunday a teacher Kevin Owuor was found dead after he was reported missing last Friday evening.

On June 25, Migori town residents woke up shocked after a farmhand was found murdered in cold blood at Kimaiga estate.
