Osingo man commits suicide in neighbour’s home before land court hearing

A land tussle between neighbours in Osingo village turned tragic ending up with death on July 5.

The body of Moses Ooko was found dangling on a tree on the same day he was to appear for hearing in a land case against his neighbour at Migori High Court.

The body was found in the morning by his brother at the neighbour’s compound.

The deceased’s wife said her husband left her side at 4am and she thought she had gone for a short call.

“I asked his brother if he had seen him as they were to go to court, his body was found dangling on a tree at our neighbour’s compound,” she said.

North Osingo assistant chief Eunice Ochieng’ confirmed the incident to Migori News.

“We  have launched investigation over the death as he committed suicide the same day the land matter came for hearing. The body was taken to Migori Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting post mortem examination,” ,” she said.
