Kuria East politician Tyson Kemege has said that the recent report that ranked local MP Marwa Kitayama as among those who were silent in 2020 is shocking.

Kemege will seek to dethrone Kitayama in the 2022 general elections.

Kemege said in social functions like funerals, Kitayama has been very vocal with the microphone to send his rivals into war of words which is unlike the image given by the report.

“My MP is very vocal when he gets a microphone in funeral and has a sharp tongue in attacking his rivals, he should just use part of that energy to debate in the plenary since we have just 13 months to the August 2022 General Election,” Kemege said.

He said rivals who have got a tongue lashing from Kitayama are ODM leader Raila Odinga, Migori governor Okoth Obado and PS Nelson Marwa among others.

He said the silence has shocked him, as Kitayama is also educated with a masters degree.

“He has really been vocal on social functions, but without his plenary powers how can he lobby for development for Kuria East? The constituents have failed to get their representation at the assembly,” he said.

He said in next polls, Kuria East MPs will get a debater and person who will articulate their issues in the assembly.
