Mr. Maganya thanked the Kenya Forest Research Institute, Migori County Government, British America Tobacco (BAT) and the World Vision for their overwhelming support towards ensuring that the county reaches the projected percentage of forest cover.

Maganya was speaking during trees planting exercise at Assar Primary School in Suna East. He said Rotary Club tree planting campaign named ‘Adapt Tree Project’ was a Social Corporate Responsibility initiative as a way of giving back to the society.

On his part, the Assar primary school head teacher Mr. Peter Bhoke expressed his gratitude towards the Rotary Club Suna Migori and its partners for the warm gesture and assured that the school will make sure the planted seedling are well taken care off.

The Head teacher stressed that trees provide cool learning environment for pupils to perform better in class.

Mr. Robi however, asked the Rotary Club to arrange another visit in future so that they can plant more trees to boost the school tree population.

He pointed out that the Rotary Club Suna Migori has set a good example and a noble idea for students to emulate in terms of protecting our environment for the future generation.
