Migori police are expected to arraign in court a man from Ogwedhi for allegedly beating to death his class six daughter for sleeping away from home.

Nicholas Odhiambo Magolo is being held at Ogwedhi Police Station in Suna East sub county after his daughter Mary Atieno, 15, succumbed to injuries caused  by his discipline action on Saturday.

The body was taken to Migori Referral Hospital mortuary for post mortem examination.

Kennedy Ochanda, the assistant chief of Ogwedhi sub location said the deceased is a class six pupil at Ogwedhi Primary School.

“She was first taken to a local clinic for treatment on Sunday, when they took him back again she died,” Ochanda said.

Ochanda said on Saturday the father tied both the girl’s hands and legs on a tree in the compound and beat her up. She was rushed to a local clinic after she collapsed.

Neighbours said the father has been complaining that the young girl has not been staying at home for most of the time and often slept away.
