Three farmers among them a ward representative were arraigned in court after being accused of several counts including incitement to violence,interfering with the Kenya Revenue Authority seals for maize seized by police at Gukipimo trading centre,malicious damage to property and resisting arrest by police.

The three Joseph Hoyo Mogesi Makerero ward representative,maize farmers Mwita Chacha Muronya and Samson Rioba Magaigwa were arrested by police on 13th May 2021 for the above accounts.

They claimed the police interfered with the maize stored and also still do not know how the maize that was seized reduced accusing the police of malicious actions.

They want the relevant authority and the directorate of criminal investigations to investigate the matter and also make their findings public.
