Rongo MP Paul Abuor has said he is confident of retaining his seat in the next general elections as his rivals are political feather weights.
The confident legislator said compared to MCA race in all wards in the constituency, he has been running on a solo act in most social functions as his rivals have been avoiding him.
“In politics we are not enemies, but friends seeking the same position. In most functions MCAs aspirants always clash with incumbents, but sadly that is not the case. Rongo constituency politics is boring,” Abuor said.
He said the only time he met an aspirant at a function was in North Kamagambo ward where his rival did not know other areas of the constituency.
“I wondered if he was out to vie for a ward seat or play politics at the constituency level,” Abuor said.
He said he thinks his rivals are hoarding money and energy to unleash towards 2022 general elections that is why they are hiding.
“I wont elaborate further because they will take to social media and twist my words, but let them know i will still be strong when they meet at the ballot,” Abuor chided them.
He said he would be running unopposed, but even in presidential race aspirants like Ole Kiyiapi and Abduba Dida “are small candidates who gain 3,000 votes nationally but they insist on running.”
“We need to have small people in political race so that we don’t go unopposed,” he said.
He said with the tarmacking of Nyarach-Nyaburu-Oboke-Rangwe roads and the Riosiri-Cham Gi Wadu roads, Rongo will make great steps at infrastructure development.
Abuor is likely to face off with David Osiany, Nelson Oluoch and Tom Muga.
