Politician Billy Mijungu has said his second stab as the fourth senator of Migori county is on course after taking a political break.
Mijungu vied on Independent party ticket in the 2017 general election which was won by the late radio journalists Ben Oluoch Okello on an ODM ticket.

The current senator Ochillo Ayacko won the ensuing by-elections after ODM party offered him a direct party nomination.
“I took a strategic decision to keep away from the by-elections out of respect of the ODM party which will be the vehicle I will use in 2022 general elections,” Mijungu told Migori News in a special interview.

He said he has been mobilising resources and revising his grass roots base and will bank on the ODM party machinery to pick up the seat.
“I have an aspiration for Migori residents to ensure resources are secured not only from the national treasury but from other donors and development partners,” Mijungu said.
He said in the last elections because he hails from Uriri constituency together with governor Okoth Obado, political re-alignment was tricky across the county.
“I am open to work with like minded leaders since Migori is a cosmopolitan county and will aspire to unite all communities in Migori from bottom up approach,” he said.
Policy Expert
Mijungu is a graduate of Bachelors of Business Studies from Charles Stuart University in Australia with a Masters of Business Administration from University of Wales at Cardiff in Englans.
“My main forte. apart from working with National Youth Council and Nairobi County Government, is logistics and policy consultacy with several partners from United Nations and European Union,” Mijungu said.
He said as a public policy consultant, he will institutionalise resource mobilisation in counties and regions instead of governors doing so individually.
“Politics and policy go hand-in-hand and by institutionalising resource mobilising we will have a common approach in getting resources, that will be my main agenda once elected,” he said.
He said once elected he will be keen to boost quality education and health, good transport infrastructure, agriculture boosted through value addition bolster food security.
“Migori is quickly being urbanised and cheap and affordable housing will be among my key agendas,” he said.
