Migori senator Ochillo Ayacko has called for an audit of how public funds have been used in the Woman Representative office.

Ayacko said just like governor Okoth Obado who faces audit queries on use of devolved funds, the same spotlight will soon be shone on Pamela Odhiambo.

“It is in the public domain that senators and MCAs are not allocated any funds for public use, but for governor and woman representative office there is public funds and they should face audit,” Ayacko said.

He said the biggest threat to development has been corruption, which is best fought by audit of public funds.

Ayacko claimed that since being elected, Odhiambo’s office has been allocated about Sh8million annually for each eight Constituency.

Both Ayacko and Odhiambo will face off for the governor race in 2022 to replace Obado in the ballot.

He was speaking at Otho Center, Got Kacholla ward during a Boda Boda Sacco funds drive.

“The biggest threat is corruption affecting development, all money for devolution and for public we should ensure it works,” Ayacko said.

During the funds drive, Odhiambo was represented by three people and donated Sh50,000 to the Sacco and promised Sh100,000 to the Sacco.
