Migori county assembly on Wednesday descended into chaos as nominated MCA Mary Ogodo had her arm broken.
Chaos revolved around the pending impeachment motion of governor Okoth which is yet to be tabled.

Trouble started as MCAs allied to Obado led by Kaler’s Thomas Akungo and God Jope’s Leo Lot invaded the assembly to prevent North Kanyamkago MCA George Omamba from sitting as the deputy speaker.
“You can never take up the speakers role, we are the same people who showed you the door because of arrogance, get out of that chair,” Akungo shouted.
The house descended into chaos.

In the ensuing melee, Ogodo broke her arm, she blamed Akungo. She was rushed to St. Joseph Mission Hospital.
Ogwada tried to forceful eject Omamba from the seat, after being overwhelmed he walked out with others accusing him and thrown water on him.
Angry Ogwada turned around in a round of chaos and pinned nominated MCA Grace Oyamo on the ground before others separated them.

WHY PRO-OBADO MCAs CAUSED CHAOS
North Kanyamkago MCA George Omamba, was thrown out as the Deputy Speaker on May 2019 together with clerk Tom Opere.
Bukira East MCA Mathews Chacha and Emmanuel Abala took over from them respectively in acting capacity amid court orders from the two.

“After Omamba got staying orders on Tuesday, Opere was to take over on Wednesday officially,” an MCA said.
“As it stands only Omamba and Opere can be in the house for the impeachment motion to be tabled legally, Obado’s ally knew that forcing them to cause chaos to try and disrupt the tabling of the motion,” a senior ODM official in the assembly said.

It has became apparent the speaker Boaz Okoth, Obado’s close ally, was set to stay away for long as EAC and DCIO officers increased investigations in the assembly.
“We know that if the motion is passed in current leadership state, those close to Obado were to move in court and thrash the all process. We will have a water tight case,” the leader said.
