Speaker Boaz re-appears at assembly after year absence, refuses to comment on Obado woes or ODM meeting

Migori speaker Boaz Okoth on Monday made a politically strategic re-appearance at the assembly after a year away and gave a cryptic less than a minute press conference.

Okoth has been away because of sickness and on Monday re-appeared at the assembly just hours after governor Okoth Obado and his political god-father was granted bail by high court.

Rumours that Okoth was back at the assembly was confirmed by assembly Public Relations Officer Nancy Kijana who called for a press within an hour.

Okoth who came to the presser, waited until cameras were set before coming out and giving a press conference or less than a minute without picking any questions from journalists.

He only said that he was back and fully in charge at the assembly after a year absence.

“During the one year absence because of sickness the assembly have been running smoothly and I am back to help it progress further,” he said thanking MCAs for their support during his absence.

Okoth, a close confidant of Obado arrival at the office on the same day of issuing of the bail terms increased speculation of preparation of the impeachment.

“Things are ok at the assembly and I am back, There are events happening  that I will not comment about for reasons I know best. Later on we will have to address that,” Okoth said.

He refused to also confirm if he will attend the Tuesday meeting called by ODM, the majority party in the assembly.
