Rongo MP Paul Abuor on June 7 lunched NHIF cards for vulnerable and People With Disability in his constituency.
Abuor launched the project at Rongo sub-county headquarters in Rongo town.
“We started off with Sh2.4m which will benefit 400 people in the first phase, next year we will scale it up to Sh6m to increase beneficiaries to over 1,000,” he said.
Margret Atieno, a widow and a beneficiary thanked the legislator for the gesture.
“I will be able to access healthcare for free or subsidised rates not only for myself but also family members,” Atieno said.
She said with NHIF help, county government should boost health centers and dispensaries for quality service delivery.
Rongo area Knut representative Eunice Bosco lauded the legislator for his transformation of j education sector in Rongo.
“Today, apart from NHIF project we have launched bursaries which is a positive gesture,” Bosco said.
She led teachers and other sector Stakeholders who graced the sector to thank Abuor for several projects and new schools in the area.
“We are proud to have several new schools, have laboratories and other infrastructure built and improved in schools,” Bosco said.
