
Migori town has recorded the first Covid 19 positive case, a prisoner at Migori GK prison.
In daily update on the virus by Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, Migori recorded ‘the five (5) cases are form Kuria West four (4) and Suna East one case.”
Sources at Migori GK Prison confirmed the solitary case is a prisoner at the facility at the heart of Migori town and next to county and national government offices.
The new cases makes Migori to have 25 new cases after county executive Isca Oluoch confirmed 20 cases.

With new number, jitters in Migori town has increased especially along major towns and border posts with border with Tanzania.
“The COVID-19 positive cases reported today include, 119 Kenyans, 2 Somalis, 2 Tanzanians and one Eritrean National”. the CS told the nation.

“Out of the 124 cases, Mombasa, has forty (40), Nairobi, thirty-eight (38), Busia, twenty-six (26), Kajiado, six (6), Kiambu, three (3), Garissa, two (2) and Taita Taveta, two (2) cases, Muranga and Elgeyo Marakwet one (1) case each. Elgeyo Marakwet becomes the latest county to report a COVID-19 case, bringing the total number of counties that have been affected to thirty-six (36)”. Kagwe added.

Data from the ministry further added: “In Busia, the 26 cases are from Malaba border Point, (18), Busia border four (4) cases, and Alupe mandatory quarantine center four (4). All the cases from Busia are of truck drivers. In Migori, the five (5) cases are form Kuria West four (4) and Suna East one case. In Kiambu, the three cases are from Ruiru, Lari and Kikuyu with one (1) case each. In Garissa the two (2) cases are from Daadab, in Taita Taveta the two (2) cases are from Taveta, while in Muranga, the one (1) case is from Kiharu, Muranga town.
