Two Kuria East children arrested for selling chang’aa

Two teenagers from Kuria East have been arrested by police with 35 litres chang’aa and 230 litres of Kangara of during illicit brew swoop on Saturday.

Their parents fled the homestead when police officers invaded the area.

Kuria East police boss Patrick Loboria said the arrested a 12 years old girl after she started insulting police officers and a boy, 15, was released few hours later after he claimed that he was only assisting the girl sell the brew.

“The girl was arrested on Saturday but released yesterday morning but we are still looking for the parents,” Loboria said.

Nyabasi Location Chief, Susan Nyamohanga said police didn’t intend to arrest the standard 8 girl but she was high.

Nancy Moguche Kuria East Officer said police released the two as they cannot be penalized for their parents crime.
